Last Sunday we headed off to California for the summer Color Country Clogging tour. :) My parents, Addi, Kambri, Justin, Jake & I all loaded up in the Yukon & headed out. We were just North of Vegas when we heard a loud sound & all of our luggage flew off the roof. We lucked out it all landed on the right hand side of the road & none of it landed in the middle or hit any cars behind us. It got a little bit of road rash - but Jake & my dad rigged the cargo net back together to get it to the nearest gas station where we got some tie downs. We looked a little funny - but it got our luggage too & from where it needed to go. :)
My sister & her kids flew up from Texas to spend the week with us - so when we got to the Motel they were there waiting for us. :) We went to Bubba Gump Shrimp to eat & Kambri absolutely LOVED the Shrimp that was walking up & down the street.
On Monday we went to Knott's Berry Farm where the girls were performing - that was my first time there & it was a lot of fun! The girls of course did an awesome job clogging as they always do & they attracted quite the crowd with their amazing dancing! After their performance we were able to enjoy the rest of the day at the park.
On Tuesday we spent the day in Disneyland - where the girls performed again, but this year kids under 7 could not perform so Addi wasn't able to join them. Disney still gave her a performing shirt & a performing pin though so she was happy.
On Wednesday we spent the day in California Adventure - we saw the World of Color show - it was incredible. If you ever get a chance to see it do - but get your tickets for it as soon as you walk in the park so you can have good seating! :)
On Thursday we went to Newport Beach - it was good to have a break from the parks & of course to see the ocean. I love going to the ocean - I wish we could've spent more time there than we did but it was a ton of fun while it lasted. We left our stuff on the beach while we went to lunch & the Seagulls ate all of our snack food :) they love goldfish snack crackers!
On Friday we spent our final day in Disneyland - which turned out to be a lot more relaxing, we stayed & watched the fireworks - of course they were amazing I never get sick of them!
Yesterday we said our goodbye's to Candyce & the girls - hope it's not another year before we get to see them all again! Then we headed home - which was surprisingly a very fast trip. I was grateful that the kids were really good on both the trip there & the trip home - I was worried they were going to get antsy & drive us all insane! :) Thanks mom & dad for everything you did for us - love you!!
