Our Tuesday Afternoon....

Well originally my Tuesday started out very good... I got up early and took Addi to preschool.... this time when she came bounding out she actually told me about her day!! :) I was sooooooo excited about that then when we got home about 11:45 she asked me to make her some Scooby Mac & Cheese so I started the Mac & Cheese and pulled out all of the stuff to make Halloween cupcakes. (We bought it at the store a few days ago and I promised her we would make them) So I thought we could make them right after she eats her lunch - well I had just poured the noodles in the pan when I hear a blood curdling scream coming from her bedroom where she was playing - I took off and she met me halfway down the hall crying I gave her a hug and pulled her back to see what was wrong and I saw blood coming out of her mouth. I ran her into the bathroom and told her to spit not swallow while I got a rag - there was a lot of blood but I knew I needed to figure out where it was coming from. So I wiped off what I could and told her to take a swig of water and spit it out - after doing that about 5 times it was almost clear enough for me to see - I thought maybe she had bit her lip or something but there was just a lot of blood. So I pulled back her lower lip to see if I could find teeth marks in her lip or something and that's when I saw the huge cut between her gum and lip my eyes got huge and I told her to keep drinking the water and spitting the blood out so she wouldn't get sick. She was crying the whole time and trying to tell me what happened so there was blood all over the bathroom basically it looked like a murder scene..... so I told myself "What do I do What do I do... there is too much blood" so I said to myself.... "I call MOM duh!" So I called my mom and she said take her in if there is any question that she could possibly need stitches just take her in. So I hung up with her ran to the computer looked up the nearest ER grabbed some ice and a cold rag and took off. (Thankfully I remembered to turn off the stove first) We went to the ER and got her admitted there wasn't anyone in the waiting room but one of the assistants told me that there was a mass quantity of people that came in right before we got there and even their overflow was full. I was thinking that's ok they'll get us back soon enough.... so we finally get back into a room and the little boy next to us had fallen and gotten an owie on his head also. Well the sedation shots are AWFUL and he got one about 20 minutes after we got there and he was screaming bloody murder - so Addi was like looking at me in terror thinking that was going to happen to her so the Dr could fix her boo boo and she started bawling saying "I want to go home!" Of course she did! Poor thing as if the fall and the pain and the blood weren't traumatizing enough. Well we had to wait until the new shift Dr got there at 2:30 and at about 2:45 he came in took one look and said yep we'll have to do stitches he explained the process to me and wrote up the orders to get her sedation meds and everything that he would need for the procedure. The nurses kept coming in they hooked her up got the room prepped got the meds lined up - and then it happened MAD rush to the ER! At about 3:00 a man with a gun shot wound came in (obviously first priority - fine with me!) and right after that a man had rolled his ATV - he was next. Then a lady came in with a possible heart attack- Dr came over and apologized said that he would check her out and then he'd get Addi stitched up so we could go home, it was fine I understood Addi's wasn't life or death just very painful and hard for a 3 year old. :) Then right before he got in with the possible heart attack there was a person who had a stroke that came in - so he took care of that then the heart attack patient - then another stroke came in and he finally got a break. At about 5:45 it was our turn (We got there at 12:30) he sedated her, which was very hard to watch she screamed because the shot hurt so bad and he said her eyes would stay open but she'd be out of it. Well he pulled out another needle to shoot her lower lip full of lidocane... well when he stuck that needle in her lip she screamed and reached up and stopped him from doing it. She wasn't sedated enough... he had to give her more of the medicine.... so of course I was freaking out because I was afraid she had felt it and would remember it and everything else. Thankfully I got her calmed down and then they gave her the second shot - more screaming poor thing trusted all these nice people and they hurt her. After the 2nd shot started to kick in he had a 3rd person come in and hold her hands down so it wouldn't happen again and he was able to give her the rest of the lidocane and stitch her up. Poor thing... I'm ok with stitches on me but I was having a very hard time with stitches on her! After she started to come too she told me... "Mommy... I feel... Crazy" lol it was funny but I totally knew what she meant! We finally got back to my truck at 6:30 - she hadn't had anything to eat since 8:30 that morning and about 15 minutes before we left they finally gave her something to drink. I hope I don't have to go through that again any time soon!

Shopping Day!

Well my mom, Shari & Justin came up to go shopping on Friday and we had a blast. Shari needed to find a crib for baby Kaylee so they came up here and let me be apart of that! I was way excited I used to spend so much time with these 2 and I miss it... I know that's to be expected when you move away but it doesn't make it easier! :) Anyways, we went to Babies R' Us and found TOO much stuff! We went to the mall in Orem, RC Willy's and a few other stores. Shari found her crib in RC Willy's and I actually fell in love with one that I found in Babies R' Us (see picture below). Going baby shopping gets you excited and definitely makes being pregnant more of a reality! Ok I am apparently Chatty Cathy today so I will stop but here are some pictures!

Justin watching the Weasel ball... he really did not know what to think about it!

The crib I found that I love!!! :)

Addi's 1st Day of Preschool

My little girl... all grown up! Not sure how to feel about this but oh well.... nothing I can do it's a fact of life! Here she is on her 1st day of preschool. I was toying around whether or not to stick her in a preschool up here because the preschool I wanted to enroll her in was a mid-morning school. Which is fine except I have to stop work to take her and have to stop work to go pick her up so I was a little hesitant at first but my mom kept telling me..... ENROLL HER... and after a long talk with Trevor about it we decided we would do it. She goes to school at the same place where her gymnastics class is (they do an academic class there for 3-5 year olds) so I un-enrolled her from gymnastics and flipped her to the school. She goes every Tuesday & Thursday from 9 - 11:30, they include gymnastics in the class so she gets to do gymnastics twice a week instead of just once. Which is great because out of everything she is doing right now that is by far her favorite. Now if anyone is keeping track of her schedule that is .... School Tuesday Morning, Swim Tuesday night, Dance Wednesday night, School Thursday morning & swim Thursday night - she is sooooo busy! I'm grateful though, and I'm really glad that I decided to enroll her in the school because she really needs the interaction with the kids. It's hard to make friends in swim and dance when the second she walks through the door she is either in the swimming pool or dancing - and they don't stop until the time is up. So she doesn't get to know any of the other kids that well so I think this will be good - she's so funny when I picked her up from school she came bounding out to the truck and was so excited! I asked her if she had a good day and she said oh mom I had so much fun! (which of course made me very very happy) and then when I proceeded to ask her about her day.... she clammed up and said she didn't want to talk about it. WHAT A BRAT!!!! I have been DYING to know what happened and what went on but the little turd is REFUSING to talk about it! :) She did tell my mom about some of it and I eavesdropped but I was sad she wouldn't tell ME anything. Oh well I guess that's what I have to look forward to in the coming years and I'm sure I'll get it out of her sooner or later it's just hard because it's the only thing she's doing right now that I don't watch her do so I really have no idea what went on! :) The joys of children!
